2. What Information We Collect
At Calm Cloud Connect, we are committed to protecting children's privacy. We only collect the minimum information necessary to deliver a safe, personalised, and effective experience.
Information We Collect
Account Information: This may include a name, username, or email provided by the User to help identify the user within the app.
- Usage Data: We track basic interactions within the app, such as which activities are accessed, to help improve the experience and ensure everything works as it should.
- Device Information: We collect non-identifiable data like device type, operating system, and app version to help with security and troubleshooting.
- Optional Input: If a child chooses to use journaling features or mood trackers, those entries are stored securely within the app and are never shared outside it.
- Subscription Information: Subscription type and status. Payment is processed by the app stores; we do not store your full card details.

3. Subscriptions
Calm Cloud Connect offers auto-renewable subscription plans for users who want to access paid features in the app.

Subscription Billing
Payment will be charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price of the selected plan.
Managing and Cancelling Your Subscription
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which access to paid features will be removed. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused subscription time.
How to Cancel on iOS (Apple App Store):
Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Calm Cloud Connect → Cancel Subscription and confirm.
How to Cancel on Android (Google Play Store):
Open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Calm Cloud Connect → Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Cancel Within the App:
For Android: Tap the Cancel Subscription button on the Subscription screen.
For iOS: You will be redirected to the Apple App Store subscription settings to cancel.
Refunds
Refunds are managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies. Calm Cloud Connect does not directly process refunds for app store payments.
Access After Subscription Ends
If the subscription expires, is cancelled, or payment fails, access to paid features may be limited or removed until an active subscription is reactivated.
4. How We Use the Information
We only collect the minimum information necessary to support your child's experience with the Calm Cloud Connect app. This information is used solely to:
- Provide access to the Calm Cloud Connect app's features and wellbeing activities
- Support the child's emotional wellbeing journey by tracking progress (only visible to the child, teacher, or parent, where appropriate)
- Improve app performance, functionality, and educational content
- Maintain the safety, security, and reliable operation of the app
- Process and manage subscriptions and access to paid features
We never sell, share, or use any data for advertising or marketing purposes. All information remains secure and is used only within the scope of the Calm Cloud Connect experience in schools.
5. Sharing of Information
We only share information when necessary:
- With Schools/Teachers/Parents: Limited reports may be shared with the child's teacher or parent to support wellbeing.
- With Service Providers: Trusted third-party providers who help us host and maintain the app (they must follow strict data protection rules).
- With App Stores: Subscription and payment status is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store under their own privacy policies.
- If Required by Law: We may share data if legally required (e.g. for child protection).
We never share children's data for marketing.
6. Data Storage and Security
At Calm Cloud Connect, we prioritise the safety and privacy of children's data. We are fully committed to complying with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
Secure Data Storage
- All personal data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard security protocols.
- Data is stored on secure servers located within the UK or EEA, ensuring compliance with local data protection standards.
Data Retention
- We retain information only for as long as necessary to deliver the Calm Cloud Connect service within the school setting.
- Once the data is no longer required — for example, when a child leaves the school or the school stops using the service — it is securely deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.
Right to Deletion
- Schools or parents/guardians may request the deletion of a child's account and personal data at any time.
- These requests are processed promptly and in line with legal obligations.
7. Children's Privacy
Calm Cloud Connect is built with children in mind. Our app is designed to support the wellbeing of young people under the age of 18, and we take their privacy and safety extremely seriously. To protect every child who uses Calm Cloud Connect, we follow strict child data protection standards, including the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and COPPA (where applicable).
How We Keep Calm Cloud Connect Safe
- No ads or in-app purchases: Calm Cloud Connect is completely ad-free and does not contain any in-app purchases. Children can explore and use the free features of the app without commercial pressure or distractions.
- No data sharing for commercial gain: We do not sell, share, or use any child's data for advertising, marketing, or profiling.
- Parental or school oversight is always required: Children cannot sign up for Calm Cloud Connect on their own. Accounts are created and managed by schools or with parent/guardian involvement.
- Designed for wellbeing, not social media: Calm Cloud Connect is not connected to social media or any external online platforms. There are no messaging features or public profiles.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable laws (such as the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or COPPA in the United States), you or your parent/guardian may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can request to see what personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: You can request that we delete your data (also known as the "right to be forgotten"), especially if it is no longer needed.
- Restriction or Objection: You may have the right to limit or object to how we use your data.

9. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time by following these steps in the app:
Go to: Dashboard → Profile → Delete Profile
Account deletion will remove your data from our system.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. Any such updates will be communicated to schools and made available within the app.
